This morning Middleton Fire and Police responded to a Motor vehicle accident on Rt. 114 (Main St., North) in the area of Lookout lane.

When companies arrived on scene they found themselves with their hands full. They had a two vehicle head on MVA. One vehicle was a box truck which had partially rolled onto its side and was leaking fluids.

The other vehicle was a smaller pickup truck which sustained major front/ left damage, upon further inspection it was determined that the operator of that vehicle was entrapped and would have to be extricated.

Middleton Fire sounded a “All Call” for all available manpower to respond. Bringing additional manpower and equipment.

While extricating the entrapped patient it was determined that they should transported to a Boston Trauma center and Boston Medflight was requested. The helicopter landed in a nearby soccer field which was secured by North Andover Fire. After being extricated the patient was transported by ground ambulance to the awaiting helicopter for transport to Boston.

A second patient; unknown from which vehicle; was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.

Rt. 114 was completely blocked at first then reduced to 1 lane of travel.
