Fatal fire in North Andover.

Midday Saturday North Andover fire department received calls for a possible structure fire at number 41 Park St.

The first arriving companies signed off on scene reporting smoke showing from the structure, quickly followed by a report that there maybe someone still trapped on the second follow.

Although muffled by their air masks, crews called over their radios “charge the line!” calling for water. The radios then began to buzz with reports “We got heavy smoke 2nd floor!,” “We’ve found the seat of fire, being to knock down!,”

Then the radios talk took a turn to the less pleasant and saddening news “We’ve found a victim, DOA!”

During the incident mutual aid companies from Lawrence, Andover and Methuen responded to the scene for manpower. While other communities provide the town with coverage.

The fire was contained to the upper floors of the building.

Unconfirmed initial reports is the fire was started by careless disposal of smoking materials.
