Wakefield's working fire at the Dunkin Donuts.

Yesterday morning; shortly after opening; the fire alarms in the Dunkin Donuts at the corner of North Avenue and Albion Street in Wakefield, MA. began to sound triggering a full response by the fire department.

After arriving on scene crews found there was a fire in a petition wall which had extended up into the ceiling and ventilation system. They laid in a couple of hand lines and began to put water on the fire.

With crews in the building fighting the fire the commander requested a rapid intervention team; or RIT: to the scene. This request brought firefighters from Stoneham to the scene.

Also, with his engines committed with hand lines in the building and another suppling water from a hydrant command requested the stations be covered, which brought an engine in from Reading.

Crews spent about an hour on scene pulling the petition wall and ceiling apart knocking down and overhauling before clearing.
