Lowell FFOP doing a little OJT

Yesterday Lowell Eng11ine and Lad1der had a unique opportunity to do some in the field on the job training “OJT.”

Both companies had rookie fire fighters who completed their training at the Massachusetts Fire Fighting academy and will now be working in the city.

Rookie on the Engine was shown how to establish a feeder from the hydrant to the engine using large diameter hose off the front bumper of Eng11ine then how to connect to the feed for the aerial pipe on the Ladder.

The Ladder crew showed it’s guy how to use the ladder tip communication system, the angle gauge and with the Engine sitting on the plug the day would not be complete without; getting the camera guy wet standing up wind; flowing some water though the tip.

Well I should of said “the day wouldn’t of been fun without flowing some water” because the day was complete until after the rookies shut down the hydrant, drained the feeder line and packed it, the ladder pipe was drained and the ladder back safe in the cradle all the little thing to call it a day.
