Mid day yesterday Lowell fire fighters quickly handled an outside fire which had extended to a nearby garage. The 1st due crew arrived to fire in a pile of trash next to a garage which had climbed the exterior of the garage and into the canopy of some trees. they stretched 2 pre-connects but only ended up charging one of them. They spent several minutes overhauling and wetting down the area and carefully checking for extension. Although fire alarm toned for them the Additional engine for RIT; engine 10; the deputy cancelled them enroute. According to reports this fire was reported by a passerby to the Lawrence Street station, which is just blocks away.
