Tyngsboro's big one!!!

Yesterday afternoon Tyngsboro fire , Police and Mutual aid companies battled a large fire at in the area of Dunstable Rd. and Westford Rd.

It was a great stop by all! This fire with the weather conditions could of been a lot worse. Crews quickly dropped hand lines protecting exposures while the second alarms companies where racing into the scene and setting up supply lines.

Police fighting low vis due to the smoke condition evaced the apartment building next door. They also... with the help of the towns Highway Dept., Mass DOT set up several detour preventing vehicles from entering the area.

During the height of the fire flying ember sparked off a small brush fire in the several hundred feet away which was spotted by a Police office, who also jumped into action grabbing an extinguisher from his car and knocking it down.

Eastern Mass' Red Cross DAT team responded and set up a temporary shelter in the nearby senior center.
