Images from Walthham's General alarm fire
As everyone knows by now, the residents in the city of Waltham woke up on July 23rd to the air filled with smoke and as much as it was morning the sun was clouded by that same smoke.
As fire broke out in a building under construction on Elm Street the calls began coming in.
The 1st arriving officer quickly called for mutual aide, asking dispatch to transmit additional alarms. The tones dropped 1 after another for each additional alarm. With the horns sounding and bells ringing the dispatcher could not say the alarm upgrade fast enough, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, no 4th in the end making it to 10 alarms on scene and with the equivalent of a general for coverage.
