Laying to Rest!
Members of the Tyngsborough Fire Department jumped into a different kind of gear today. Normally the guys wake up and throw on station pants and a duty shirt; but; not today. If the tones where dropping and bells rings it would be bunker pants and a coat, not today!
Normally the rigs might be a little dusty and dirty with pollen from the trees or the last fire, not today. The rigs might be parked on the roll outs awaiting the next report of fire or medical; but; not today!
Today was a special day requiring a special uniform. The rigs would be parked on the roll out; but; nicely washed, waxed and polished, because today was a special day.
Today was a day not to morn but remember and enjoy the life, the friendship and leadership of Retired Deputy Donald Singleton. Who passed away peacefully following a long battle with a chronic illness.
Today was a day of duty and honor. Today was a day of dressing up in the Class A's and stand at attention. Today was a day of raising the ladder not to preform a rescue but to show a sign of respect holding the flag high above the roadway as the engine carried the Deputy to his final resting place.
God speed Deputy.
