PFFM Memorial Service.
Each year around the Country men and women stop and pause on Veteran's and Memorial Days to show respect to the hero's who fought for this great country with riffles and hand grenades, rockets and mortars.
On Sept. 11th, 2001 a series of horrible cowardly acts scarred the history books of America. Adding other day on the calendar to pause and remember hero's. But this date is not to remember hero's who fought with riffles and missiles; but; hero's who fought with axes and air packs, Halligan tools and hoses. Hero's who dropped everything they were doing and ran towards two burning towers know this was a gone to be a very bad day. And a very bad day it became 343 members of the NYFD began climbing 110 flights of stairs against all odds attempting rescues only to become trapped and climbing their way into heaven.
September 11th has also become a day which the men and women of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM) have used to remember the men and women here who have also given it all. Men and Women from the PFFM from around the State gather and pay tribute to the fallen; but; more importantly to show the families of the fallen what the "Brotherhood" is and that is family, family who has their backs through the funnest time, through the best time and yes through the worst time. Showing that, that fire fighter who has given it all will not become just some number or name on a headstone or wall and forgotten; but; instead remembered each year as true hero's and that they will never, ever be forgotten.
May God speed the 343 NYFD members and all the Fire Fighters of the PFFM who have given it all, and my his blessing hand provide comfort, guidance and healing to their families.
