That's NO exhaust smoke!

Early Thursday afternoon Wilmington Fire Department rolled the rigs to a report of a vehicle fire at the intersection of Woburn Street and Salem Street.

Wilmington C2 signed on as responded and signed off seconds later reporting he has a fully involved pickup truck near Andover Street and Woburn Street. He began issuing orders to the responding companies "Engine 4 pull just past my car and drop the hand line off the front bumper!" "Fire Alarm make sure Engine 3 is responding"

The responding rigs could see the column of thick, black smoke rising up into the sky as they raced their way up Route 62 towards the scene.

Once on scene just as the Deputy ordered Engine 3 pulled in front of his car, crews masked up and pulled the line off the front bumper.

Engine 3 crew arrived shortly after and help dress a hydrant and connect Engine 4 in.

Crews moved in with C2 on their shoulder and made short work of the fire. Companies overhualed the vehicle for about twenty minutes opening up work boxes and wetting it down, pulling materials out of the bed.

During the incident Woburn Street was closed down between Salem and Andover Streets.
