Wilmington Fire department dispatched crews to a home on High Street for a possible structure fire, after receiving a 911 call from a passer by reporting smoke coming from a second floor window.
arrived on scene and initially reported nothing showing and crews would be making entry, upon entry they found the home was charged with smoke and began to search for the seat of the fire. Crews stretched a hand line and began their attack. The senior officer called for the Working Fire assignment bring North Reading and Andover to the scene. The second due companies assisted in connecting up to the plug then laid a second or back up line. Crews conducted a primary and located a dog which they removed from the structure once out side crew frantically attempted CPR and provided it oxygen but unfortunately it did not make it. Crews did an outstanding job containing the fire and saving the home.
