So, Mr. Mayor this is the Antique Roadshow, and it got to stop!!!!

So, I know there is a lot of social media posts out there which appear to be attacking or bashing the Mayor of Haverhill. One of the post coming from this Blogger. It is not my intention to do a social media attack or bashing. What my intended goal is, is to tell the story as factually based as possible.

There was a lot crammed into my last Blog. So, I wanted to slow it down and breaking it down. One of the things I mentioned in my prior Blog was about the inadequate apparatus in the City of Haverhill. Well according to the Mayor this is normal, "From time to time, you will see our older but still in service engines..." And in that Blog I mentioned how unsafe truck where being used referencing it as the Antique Road Show; but; according to the Mayor "You may have seen a post accusing us of running an antique road show. Not the case." Well Mr. Mayor I am confused!

In one statement you say "From time to time, you will see our older but still in service engines..." These older engines which you are talking about; and which I referenced in my Blog; are Engine 8 & 9 both of which are 1987; open cab; Hahn's. Let's stop to think about that and through a few facts in there, some of which come from Mr. Mayor.

Well fact 1.- is obvious the rigs which he says you may see "From time to time,..." are over 33 years old. Past the life expectancy of a Fire Engine, Fact 2.- is not so obvious; and honestly I am still trying to figure it out, because 2+2 does not equal 4; according to Mr. Mayor a rig 1st goes into service for 6 years at their High Street or Water Street stations, they are then replaced and moved to Bradford or 16th Ave. for another 6 before being placed in service as the reserve rig, which would send the then reserve rig out to serve the Village's. If you believed this timeline the Village's should have already got replacement pieces because both Engine 2 & Engine 4; both 2005 rigs; should have already cycled out. Fact 3.- they are open cab, which according to Mr. Mayor is safe, well the NFPA 1901 Chapter 14 would say otherwise, because they are open cabs. "Each crew riding position SHALL be within a fully enclosed personal area." (NFPA 1901 14.1.1) I could go on but will not.

Enough of this smoke and mirror game Mr. Mayor the facts and info is out there. It is time you step up and provide the Firefighter's of Haverhill with the necessary and adequate tools to protect and serve the citizen of the city as they have sworn to do.
